  1. Capitalism requires an unsustainable rate of growth. That's why it keeps crashing. There are some organisms like sharks and sturgeon that never stop growing. But their growth slows down as they get bigger. They don't grow at 3.5% per year for ever and ever. If a shark grew at 3.5% per year for fifty or sixty years, how big would it be? How many whales would it need to eat per year? If a capitalist enterprise flatlines, that management team will soon be out the door. We can't have sustainability AND capitalism.
